The Show
Dance United is a one-of-a-kind International Festival attracting dancers from around the world who train in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyric, contemporary and musical theater. This non-stop, four day festival gives dancers the opportunity to train with elite teachers and choreographers and integrates a cultural exchange among students.
Dance United is a program at Nancy Chippendale’s Dance Studios, located 30 minutes north of Boston, MA, USA and led by today’s top talent in the professional dance circuit. Students, ages 9 and older, will focus on improving upon their technique in all styles through intense training in over six hours of classes each day. Dance United culminates with the performance of Tap United, a show that dancers can audition for at the beginning of the workshop week.
Dance United and Tap United were conceived by husband and wife team, Bob Carberry and Nancy Chippendale Carberry. The duo has worked together in the dance industry for over forty years, producing world class shows and dance events. Bob & Nancy act as Co-Directors of Dance United along with their three daughters, Karen, Kelli & Krissy Carberry.
Most recently, Bob and Nancy have successfully united the world of dance by providing a dance festival coupled with professional performance opportunities. Since the event's debut in 2005, the faculty and cast has grown immensely with over (100) World Champion dancers training together and gracing stages across the world together in rhythm and step.
Tap United’s heart pounding percussion has audiences jumping to their feet in excitement. In years past, the spectacular cast features tap dancers from around the world including World Dance Champions from various countries including the USA, England, Mexico, Italy, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Scotland, Australia, Poland and South Africa. Each performance features a unique and diverse translation of tap, highlighting the evolution of tap around the world.
Dancers participating in Dance United Festival will have the opportunity to participate in Tap United by auditioning at the beginning of the week. More details regarding the show will be communicated to those registered.
